Downtown Las Vegas
Super walkable area, just west of Las Vegas Blvd is the original downtown ‘Fremont St’ while to the east is East Fremont, filled with lots of good food, shops, and murals.
Mothership Coffee Roasters ➸
Our favorite coffee shop in DTLV! Grab a cup and shop the local boutiques at Fergusons Downtown.
PublicUs ➸
Delicious coffee, incredible breakfast, and even better lunch options. One of Craig’s favorite places to grab a bite and get work done!
Le Thai ➸
Try Chef Dan Coughlin’s famous short rib fried rice and 3 color curry! A DTLV staple.
Downtown Container Park ➸
DTLV’s open-air shopping center. See the Mantis wake up and scream fire nightly at sunset!
Fremont Street Experience ➸
Great people watching, wander underneath this insane ceiling screen with music light show every hour on the hour.
The Neon Museum ➸
Craig is totally biased, but The Neon Museum Double The Glow Experience will not disappoint.
Arts District
Another must-visit area with a variety of great food, street art, and vintage shops to explore. DTLV has a really great bike share system called RTC if you want a fun way to get from DTLV to Arts District.
Vesta Coffee Roasters ➸
Our favorite coffee shop … maybe of all time? Jessica’s go-to breakfast tacos are served only on the weekends.
Soulbelly BBQ ➸
Central Texas bbq in Las Vegas? Yes, please! Grab a friend and share a plate. Craig & Jess dream about the pork belly.
Esther’s Kitchen ➸
One of the best Italian restaurants in town. Their weekend brunch draws a crowd, so book ahead!
Antique Alley Mall ➸
A sprawling, multi-booth antique and vintage store. If you want to browse, but aren’t looking for anything in particular, this is a great place to go!
Vintage Vegas Antiques ➸
Like going to Las Vegas estate sales without having to actually go to Las Vegas estate sales. Tons of gems.
The Red Kat Vintage ➸
The best vintage clothing store in town. If you’re wondering what our “festive” dress code means, this store has you covered.
The Las Vegas Strip
You’ll notice a lot of ‘The Strip’ is missing from our itinerary, it’s crazy, overwhelming, and mostly not our jam. HOWEVER, if you’ve never been to Vegas, you have to at least experience some of what makes Vegas, Vegas. (Technically it’s Paradise, NV but that’s another story.)
Pick a starting point like New York, New York, and walk north past the Bellagio Fountains. Or, start at Ceaser’s Palace, and walk south past the Bellagio Fountains. Either way, it’s legal to drink outside.
‘Dataland’ by Refik Anadol at The LINQ Hotel ➸
An interactive installation by one of our favorite artists! Encompassing digital walls change like an elaborate choreography as guests enter the various installation spaces. Sit back and watch as the sculptures adapt to passing motion, or get your body moving and make your own waves! Watch folks pass by and realize it’s interactive as they notice you engaging with this piece — Delightful!
James Turell’s ‘Shards of Color,’ Crystals at CityCenter Monorail Station ➸
One of Jessica’s favorite hidden gems is a public & free immersive Turrell experience just a few floors above one of the largest luxury shopping centers in Vegas. Follow signs to the Monorail station, once at the top of the escalator, turn around to see a Turrell Wide Glass. Make your way to the left through a door labeled ‘Elevators’ and enjoy this fully immersive light experience. Each train that passes through the station ushers in a new color.
National Atomic Testing Museum ➸
Technically this museum is East of the Strip, but this national science, history, and educational institution is worth visiting! You’ll learn ‘fun’ facts like between 1951 and 1963 tourists flocked to Las Vegas in droves to experience glimpses of atomic testing at the nearby Nevada Test Site. Some mushroom clouds could even be seen from Fremont Street in Downtown Las Vegas! It’ll certainly add a little spice to our post-ceremony drinks at Atomic Cocktail.
Beyond
For those of you renting a car, these are the sites to see outside of Las Vegas city limits!
Red Rock Canyon
This one-way 13-mile scenic drive is just 20 minutes west of Las Vegas. There are plenty of places to pull over and explore, with dozens of stunning hiking options! Check out Calico Tanks Trail (2.2 miles) or Calico Hills (2-6.4 miles depending on the loop).
Seven Magic Mountains
Only 30 minutes from downtown, this free public installation was created by Swiss artist Ugo Rondinone and is comprised of seven colorful totem poles jutting out of the Mojave Desert.
Valley of Fire State Park
The Valley of Fire State Park is the oldest state park in Nevada and one of the top outdoor things to do in Las Vegas. The area is perfect for camping and hiking, and the views will leave you breathless!
